Chevrolet Cruze, Sonic, Tracker Error Code 89

This is one of the most common problems with these vehicles. In most cases, it's mainly due to changes in the assembly and the replacement of the cooling components, such as the addition of plastic thermostats and thermostat housings.

In most cases, replacing the thermostat is recommended to solve the problem. In another significant percentage (35-40%), the thermostat housing may have a very small leak (since it's made of plastic) and should be replaced.

These procedures should improve the code 89 problem in most cases. If this does not happen, a more thorough vehicle scan should be performed to determine other causes such as: temperature sensor, connectors, or the operation of additional parts.
